For its 90th anniversary, the contest Concorso d’Eleganza is about to celebrate the tradition of beauty in vintage cars and historical motorcycles among the most refined of its time. From Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May 2019, Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and Villa Erba will be transformed in to a unique catwalk. “Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is always considered to be an exclusive event, to which all the people fond of two and four wheels strive to participate” commented on the pages of our magazine Danilo Zucchetti, general manager of Grand Hotel Villa d’Este, who received the award “Manager of the year 2018” by the readers of Luxury Travel Advisor. This year the affirmation will be even more true for the 90th anniversary of the prestigious event that will attract more and more people on the shores of Lake Como. In 2019 the motto is: La Sinfonia dei Motori – 90 anni del Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este e di BMW Automobiles. The first four of the eight categories presented are: Il Coraggio di Sognare: Concept che hanno rivoluzionato il Mondo dei Motori; Baby You Can Drive My Car: Le Auto delle Star della Musica; Addio ruggenti Anni Venti: La Classe del 1929; Accelerazione contro il Tempo: Le Leggende delle Gare di Endurance. An exclusive panel with Lorenzo Ramaciotti as a president selects the winner for the prize Best of Show, the Trophy BMW Group. This prize will be given to an extraordinary car able to express beauty, passion and uniqueness. On Saturday, the public votes its favorite car for the prize Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este in a public referendum. Also the gardens of Villa d’Este are protagonists of the event with the contest for Historical Motorcycles in six categories: Tuttora Funzionanti: Motociclette di oltre 100 Anni; Rombi e Stile: Le Nuove Motociclette del 1929; Promenade Percy: La Moda dello Sportivo; 50 Anni fa: Trendsetter per il Successo Futuro; Scorta su due Ruote: per Proteggere e Servire; Concept Bike: Nuovi Design e Prototipi presentati da Case Produttrici e Progettisti Indipendenti. An event that brings a timeless atmosphere on the shores of Lake Como, keeping the same class of a unique event for 90 years.
